Ugh. Two years ago, The Boy, The Roomie, and I all moved into our apt together. This place is ghetto-freakin-fab. Built in the 70's, I'm surprised that the original appliances aren't still here^. Oh, wait. We did have the original stove, just for a few short weeks. Same with the AC. One of the main attractions to this apartment was the central air^^.
The landlords did tell us, when we were signing the contracts and discussing money, that our new apartment had the most ghetto carpet ever. Ok, maybe not the most ghetto, but pretty damn close.
Let me show you a picture, of my new tattoo, and the fuzzies stuck to the bottom of my foot*. Maybe that'll help you understand... (It's hard to see the fuzzies, if you click on it, it'll open larger)Oh my hell. I'm sorry. If you enlarge the images, you can see the fuzzies, and the bits of hair stuck to my foot. How disgusting. The Boy and I both have really long hair, and the carpet is good proof of that. The carpet sheds worse than most dogs or cats. We're always finding little green carpet fibers everywhere.
We really should have taken the landlords offer to replace the carpet before we moved in. We decided not to let them, because we didn't want to have to worry about new carpet. And after some coals from our hookah hitting the floor, and leaving scorch marks (nicely covered by the surrounding shag) I'm glad we didn't let them put new carpet in. :)
I had to throw in a good shot of my new friend. Isn't he adorable?
Oh! And this is my 100th post! Wheeeee!
^Thank god we have a white fridge and stove. I would've died if they had been yellow or avacado green. Died.
^^God. That only lasted a few glorious weeks too, until something blew out, and they had to replace the whole damn thing. I was livid. Absolutely livid. It took them forever to replace it.
*I have been using medical tape to hold down a bandage so that my sock doesn't stick to my foot. The medical tape is leaving sticky goo on the bottom of my foot, and treking through 2 inch shag is leaving fuzzies on the sticky goo. I keep finding really nasty things stuck to the bottom of my foot. Ugh. If I weren't so lazy I would be tempted to vacuum.
