Happy 4th of July
My day went as follows:
- get up late, because we'd been up late the night before watching the local fireworks at a friends house (our town does the big fireworks show on the 3rd... weird)
- borrow Roomie's girlfriends car, because we left spare keys at friends house night before (got a ride home from my bro) to go pick up our car
- pick up car, chat
- go home, pack car, food, swim stuff, canopy
- drive 20 minutes to neighboring town for big big parade
- find fam for parade
- sit and wait 20 minutes in blistering heat for parade to start
- ok, heat wasn't blister, just warm - ish
- watch parade, keeping eye out for brothers in Search and Rescue(SAR) vehicle
- see SAR vehicles roll by, no brothers
- remember brothers got stuck doing traffic control for other big event, oops
- help 8yo niece collect lots and lots of candy (and bottles of water, and string cheese, and frisbees, and steering wheel covers) thrown from the vehicles in parade
- watch parade end, help pack everything up for the trek to the lake
- The Boy and I stop to buy a snowcone on way to car, wild cherry, yum
- get to lake, set up canopy, wait for fam (they stopped to buy lunch on way to lake)
- hang out with fam at lake, bummer, not allowed to swim (lizard tat)
- leave lake, rush home, take quick shower, drive to Vietnamese friends house for engagement party
- stuff ourselves silly on delicious Vietnamese food until the late hours of the day
- sing karaoke with Vietnamese friends until early hours of morning ("Oh baby baby, how was I supposed to know?" - ya, got conned into singing BS, but it was funny)
- drive drunk Boy home, crash, sleep until noon
Come back tomorrow for the picture story of "Hanni's Journey"
(Any guesses on what "Hanni's Journey" could possibly be?)
